Bhopal:Monday, August 30 : From the current academic session, 20 new English medium Ashram Shalas have` been started in the tribal-dominant areas of Madhya Pradesh. These Ashram Shalas have been started keeping the need of the hour in view. Out of these, 11 English medium Ashram Shalas are for girl students. The Tribal Welfare Department had taken the decision of opening 20 Ashram Shalas every year during the 11th Five Year Plan 2007-2012. In view of opening of these Ashram Shalas, this year 150 posts of superintendent, school teacher grade-2 and class IV employees have also been sanctioned. Education from class 1 to V is being imparted at these Ashram Shalas.
Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has instructed the superintendents concerned to bring about qualitative improvement of education at these institutions. Officers of the directorate will also undertake inspection of these educational institutions from the first week of September.
The places where girls English medium Ashram Shalas have been started include Khaknar in Burhanpur district, Bhainsdehi in Betul district, Paraswada in Balaghat district, Junnardev in Chhindwara district, Jaisinghnagar in Shahdol district, Kukshi in Dhar district, Rama in Jhabua district, Sendhwa in Barwani distict, Mohgaon in Mandla district, Maheshwar in Khargone district and Lakhnadon development block in Seoni district.
Meanwhile, boys English medium schools have been set up at Ashapur in Khalwa development block of Khandwa district, Sailana in Ratlam district, Kesla in Hoshangabad district, Baihar in Balaghat district, Sardarpur in Dhar district, Meghnagar in Jhabua, Jobat in Alirajpur, Theekri in Barwani district and Karanjia development block in Dindori district.
Construction of buildings for these Ashram Shalas is also proposed.
