The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Baiga Chak Sports Olympiad will get national recognition. There is no dearth of sports talents in Baiga and other tribal youths. Keeping this in mind, the sports activities will be promoted with providing sports facilities in tribal dominated villages.
The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a gathering after inaugurating three day Baiga Chak sports Olympiad games at Chada village in Dindori district today. On this occasion, Tribal Development Minister Shri Vijay Shah and Minister of State for Panchayat & Rural Development Shri Devsingh Saiyam, Zila Panchayat President Shri Om Prakash Durvey and MLA Shri Omkar Markam were present.
The Chief Minister said that traditional Baiga Chak Sports Olympiad besides cricket, football and other games were played. The players showed their talents in the games. Shri Chouhan said that this game would be organised every year. There will be no paucity of funds for holding and promoting this traditional game at national and international level. The tribal youths will be imparted training for games. The Chief Minister announced ` five lakh for the game.20 roads works have been initiated in this area and development works of ` 25 crore are in progress. On this occasion, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan extended relief amount of ` one-one lakh each family members for two women victims died due to lightning and ` 20-20 thousand to the injured.
On this occasion, former MP Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, former MLA Shri Dulichand Ureti, Zila Panchayat member Smt. Jyotiprakash Dhurve, officials, public representatives and local people were present in large number.
