The candidates of municipalities’ general elections in year 2010 and by-elections in year 2011, who did not provide information about election expenses within time limit have been debarred from contesting elections for 5 years by State Election Commission. These include 394 candidates of general elections 2010; 68 of year 2011 and 6 candidates of year 2013.
General elections in year 2010 : Secretary State Election Commission Shri G.:P. Shrivastava informed that the debarred candidates included 7 of Bhopal district, 5 Sheopur, one Gwalior, 15 Shivpuri, 4 Guna, 21 Ashok Nagar, one Mandsaur, 3 Neemuch, 24 Ratlam, 10 Shajapur, 22 Ujjain, 17 Dewas, 5 Rajgarh, 15 Vidisha, 2 Sehore, 20 Raisen, 4 Betul, 4 Hoshangabad, 13 Indore, one Dhar, 2 Khargone, 7 Barwani, 2 Khandwa, 4 Burhanpur, 34 Tikamgarh, 23 Chhatarpur, 10 Panna, 17 Sagar, 6 Damoh, 8 Katni, 5 Chhindwara, 4 Seoni, 2 Balaghat, 20 Rewa, 35 Satna, 9 Shahdol, 2 Umaria, 4 Sidhi, 6 Anuppur and one candidate of Mandla district.
Similarly, 2 candidates of Sehore district, 9 Sidhi, 5 Tikamgarh, 10 Anuppur, 10 Dhar, 4 Chhindwara, one Mandla, 12 Shahdol, one Ratlam, 12 Barwani and 2 candidates of Khandwa district of general/by-elections 2011 have been debarred for not providing election expenses’ details.
One candidate of Guna district, 2 Shajapur and 3 candidates of Anuppur district of general/by-elections 2013 have been debarred to contest elections for 5 years for not providing details of election expenses within time-limit.
