Kolkata, May 9th, 2008: The Indian Premier League today announced that it had fined the Bangalore Royal Challengers US $ 1000 for a slow over rate in the game played against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 8th 2008. The Kolkata Knight Riders were also fined US $ 500 for a slow over rate in the match by the match referee Mr. Farokh Engineer.The DLF Indian Premier League is being played as per the ICC Playing Conditions and Rules, and is set to follow the guidelines in letter and in spirit. Thus, any team bowling a slow over rate would be fined US $ 500 per over, which is decided by the match referee.
