The Planning Commission has given investment clearance in respect of scheme “Anti Erosion works to protect Brahmaputra dyke form 69 km (Uluberi) to 78 km (Borigaon), Assam”. This project is estimated to Cost: 8.3509 Crore at 2011 Price Level.
The project shall be completed by the financial year 2011-12 and Plan accounts would be closed by 31st March 2012. Project will be executed as per the approved outlays in the State Annual Plans. The State Finance Department would restrict the expenditure to the approved cost and no additional expenditure beyond approved cost may be permitted unless the revised estimate is got approved.
The proposed scheme envisages anti erosion measures for 9000 m long reach on south bank of river Brahmaputra. The proposed scheme has been framed to protect an area of 8000 ha comprised of cultivated and home stead land including public and govt. properties. One lakh & fifty thousand people are likely to be benefited from the scheme.
