CAPSI, Central Association of Private Security Industry is headquartered in Delhi and has chapters in various states of India. Mr. Kunwar Vikram Singh is the Chairman of CAPSI. As a matter of fact, CAPSI has been doing a pioneering work in consolidating the entire private security industry in way never attempted before. For example Rajasthan Govt. has signed a MoU with CAPSI on 12th May 2008.
The purpose of such MoU is to facilitate employment of trained youths in private security industry and facilitate collection of anti terror intelligence which has a very crucial role to play in the present day context, in view of the wide spread terrorist activity in various parts of the country. .
CAPSI is in a final stage of signing a MoU with Indira Gandhi National Open University to develop certificate and diploma courses for Security Guard and Supervisors. It also needs to be mentioned that CAPSI is also in the process of signing yet another MoU with the National Disaster Management Authority of India for large scale manmade disaster management purposes.
Vikram Singh , National Chairman OF CAPSI &APDI observed, “ CAPSI is capable of providing ‘first hand response’ services to deal with any disaster management situations due to the presence of private security personnel in critical urban areas and the establishment of a trained security staff can prove very useful in assisting evacuation and other related operations. The availability of 50 lacs force of trained pr private security personnel could enhance the rescue capability of National Disaster Management Authority to a much greater extent and that also without spending extra money”.
Apart from creating an enhanced sense of security amongst people, this move also represents a huge employment opportunity for many youths who are looking at various employment opportunities. Needless to say but the beeline of people that we see standing for a few vacancies for the post of constables is a testimony of the fact that there are many young people who would want to craft a career working for the safety and security of the people of the country. The public private partnership understandably is going to open up a plethora of choices for the job seeking youth in the country.
