29 Nov : In Bangalore, which is mourning the loss of NSG Major Unnikrishnan during the operations to flush out terrorists at Taj hotel, the scenes were no different.
The mortal remains of the 31-year-old, wrapped in the tricolour were laid before a framed photograph of the hero and people – friends, leaders, colleagues, family and strangers, filed past with bent heads and folded hands.
Grief stricken family members, friends and others broke down as Unnikrishnan’s inconsolable mother sat close to his body caressing her son, repeatedly touching his forehead.
Born on 15th March, 1977 and the only son of retired ISRO officer K Unnikrishnan, he had joined the National Defence Academy and was Army in 1999.
He joined the NSG on deputation in January 2007 after having served two tenures with his battalion in counter insurgency and counter terrorism roles.
I understand the feelings of the parent who lost their only son in an attack with terrorists.I am highly anguished by the statement of Kerala chief minister yesterday.
How can a state chief minister say that even a dog will not go to the house of a Deputy Director of IS.R.O (Rtd) when he lost a son. Sad, our politicians at high places do not have the cultural back ground and decency . Even a toddy tapper in Kerala will not make such a comment . Mr Achudanandan should resign his post. He must quit and apologize to the people of India.
I truly bow towards the soliders who have sacrificed their lives to the nation. I truly cried when they were showing the last moments (before cremation)..

We salute on your brave. We always remeber you.
I truly salute and commend our daring heroes who put up a brave battle against these negative elements who tried to create so much of terror and confusion in our “Unity in diversity” culture.
I would really like to give a moment of silence to everyone who lost their lives, whether they were soldiers, police men, or just civilians (such as staff members). I trully cried when I heard how many people died and when the media showed their last photos while they were alive and their last photos (befor cremation)
