The three day workshop organized by National Council for Promotion of Urdul Language, New Delhi in Collaboration with Jammu University on the topic“Importance of Urdu Jounalism and Development of Professional skills in Journalists”concluded today with organizing a valedictory function. Near about 50 working journalists of Jammu province participated in the workshop. The valedictory function was presided by Prof.Deepanker Sen Gupta HOD Economics Department. While Iqbal Hussain Shah Editor-in-Chief Daily Udaan was the chief guest on the occasion. Coordinator of the workshop Prof.shohab Inayat Malik and Dr. Reyaz Ahmed also share the presidium. The participants of the workshop lauded the efforts and role of organizers of the workshop for organizing such kind of workshop for working journalists. They said that these types of programs should be organized in future frequently so that new generation of journalists could learn more and more about the aims and objectives of the journalism.
Krishan Kumar Sub Editor Amar Ujala congratulated Jammu University for organizing the workshop which was first of its nature. He said that the lectures were delivered in the workshop by resource persons were informative . we learn more about print and electronic media. He said that a journalist is the builder of positive society and he should used his pen against the social evils which are prevailing in the society . Betab Jaipuri well known writer and journalist from Daily Udaan highlighted various problems of journalism which are being faced by the working journalists .
Afzal Shah Senior Photo Journalist and Raman Raina highlighted the importance of the photo Journalism. Sham Talib described the workshop as most successful and congratulated Jammu University Vice Chancellor and Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik for giving a opportunity to working journalists to know more about their profession which is noble . Khurshid Kazmi also spoke on the occasion. Certificates were also distributed on the occasion .
In his Presidential Address Prof. Deepanker Sen Gupta highlithed the importants and problems of journalism . He appeal to journalist to write on vital issues without any fear . He demanded that advertisement should given to the Urdu newspapers as equivalent to other lingual newspapers so that they can survived. Prof. Deepanker Sen Gupta described Journalism is a noble profession which is the fourth pillar of the democracy.He said that journalist should be bold , fearless and intelligent. He should know more and more languages also.
Iqbal Hussain Shah in his address congratulated the Jammu University to organizing the programme he said that he started a paper with a noble cause. He will always raise the issues of people belonging to down trodden society. He further inform that he would do his best for raising the standard of Urdu Journalism and appeal the government to circulate advertisement to Urdu News papers as equivalent to other news papers as these advertisement are necessary for survival of any newspaper. Iqbal Shah Said that journalism is a noble profession. Therefore journalist should not compromise on the ideology of the newspaper. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik while presenting the vote of thanks inform that this type of workshop will be organized in near future in Kishtwar Campus also so that journalists belonging to far flung areas could also benefit. He thanked the Vice chancellor Prof. M.P.Singh Isher as well as Director NCPUL Prof. Khwaja Ekram for giving full support for making workshop successful one.
Earlier in the first session Farhat Rizvi of Rashtriya sahara spoke in detail on electronic Media.A technical session was also held. In which journalist prepared the news and headlines. Sunny Butt , Sanjeev Sharma prepared the news in English and others in Urdu and Hindi.Prof.Sukhchain Singh HOD Deptt. Of Urdu, Dr. Reyaz Ahmed , Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas, Dr. Vinay Chouhan, Dr. Ashok Kumar, and others were also present on the occasion.
