The Office of the International Affairs Committee, University of Jammu is currently hosting a delegation of 8 students from the University of Chicago. The students from the University of Chicago Human Rights Law Society along with the students from JammuUniversity’s Department of Psychology are conducting a study on the Kashmiri Pandit Migrants. The delegation is in Jammu between 18- 25th March. The members of the delegation have so far visited various camps, met with different members of the academic community and student groups at the University of Jammu as well as interacted with the Minister for Relief and Revenue Mr. Raman Bhalla. The students have also met with member of opposition Mr. Harsh Dev Singh and the Honrable Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University Prof. VarunSahni. The students wish to learn about the Kashmiri Migrants and get more in-depth knowledge about their socio- economic conditions. The Delegation includes 6 Law students namely Maya Ibars, Kelly Albinak, Audrey Gillman, Laura Jean, Angus -, SubhaChauhan and 2 Students of Social Work Megan – and Deanna. The program is being coordinated by Prof. Posh Charak, Convener International Affairs Committee and Assistant Professor Ruby Charak is the Co- coordinator.
