Shopian, March 15 (INFO)- Minister for Social Welfare Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil has said that present government has focused attention on economic independence and institutional stability in the state to ensure speedy progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
For the purpose, it has been concentrating on creating and augmenting up-to-date infrastructure in all critical sectors of state economy in a systematical way, he said and added that education, R&B,Power and Health sectors have received considerable fillip visible on ground. He was addressing a public meeting at Nagbal in Shopian district today.
The Minister said developed and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir would create congenial environment for one and all to lead a free, secure and comfortable life paving way for catching up with revolutionary progress taking place world over.
Mr. Vakil cautioned people against the forces indulging in false sloganeering for electoral gains, saying people believing in capturing power by emotional blackmail were living in fool’s paradise as state polity has been made completely competitive and performance oriented by Azad led government.
The Minister said that state has registered significant drop in human rights violations under present dispensation. No incident of custodian death has been reported from anywhere in the state over last one year, he added. He said security forces have been strongly directed to safeguard the life and property of innocent people during anti-militancy operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for R&B Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma highlighted the land mark achievements of Congress led government. He said Roshni Act, massive construction of infrastructure together with creation of eight new districts and other administrative units aimed at streamlining administration to facilitate development of neglected and remote areas.
Among others, General Secretary Congress Mr. Abdul Majid Paddar and other local leaders spoke on the occasion.
