Srinagar, March 26 (INFO)- Criticizing the previous regimes for neglecting the deserving areas on one or the other consideration, Minister for Forests and Environment Qazi Mohammed Afzal asserted that government’s policy planning for development is in consonance with the aspirations and needs of the people. He said this trend has been replaced by pro-people programmes of the present government.
The Minister was addressing a gathering of youth at Kangan today.He appealed to the people especially youth to come forward and cooperate for carrying forward the development process successfully.He said that several projects were under execution in Ganderbal district to improve the socio-economic profile of the people. He said on completion of these projects and developmental works not only better facilities would be extended to the people but employment
opportunities would be generated for educated unemployed youth also.Qazi Afzal said that though the unemployment is a big challenge to the government, But the efforts is being initiated to tackle this problem by identifying more than 50,000 vacancies which would be filled through fast track recruitment drive totally in a transparent manner.
Making a mention of the developmental programmes initiated in newly created district The Minister said that a network of road connectivity, modern and latest diagnostic facilities in all health institutions, infrastructure for educational institutions development of playing fields improvement in power and drinking water, besides repairs of irrigation khouls have been taken in hand at a large scale.
Responding to the demands put forth by the locals at Kangan, Qazi Afzal directed the concerned agencies to speed up the construction work of Akhal-Hayin road and bridge at Tangchatter. Reacting to another demands projected by representatives of Nunar and Gutlibagh village, the Minister said that Biloria committee has already been constituted to redress the genuine grievance with regard to delimitation of blocks and other administrative units in the state.
