JAMMU, APRIL 02 (INFO) – Saying that the land lease period for Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) Srinagar plant would be extended shortly for further period of 25 years, Minister for Industries & Commerce Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora said that the matter would be taken up in the cabinet for formal approval.
The Minister was interacting with deputation of employees union of ITI Srinagar led by its Secretary Mr. S. S. Hussain, here today.The deputation put forth a charter of demands which included extension of land lease period, risk and disturbance allowance. The also informed that during turbulence in the state, various PSUs either closed or shifted from the valley but the employees of ITI Srinagar plant without caring for their lives made it to function smoothly despite of un-favourable working conditions without getting even risk and disturbance allowances.
The Minister assured the deputationists and assured that all possible help would be extended by the state government to the success and development of the ITI plant.
