JAMMU, OCT 2: To observe 144th birth anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, Saryara Biradri Welfare Committee (SBWC) organized a cleanliness drive at ward number 47, Bahu Fort.
Members of SBWC along with women and children participated in the drive. The entire clean drive event was coordinated by Jagdev Raj Daloutra, president SBWC and assisted by Harbans Lal Chalotra.
Later addressing the volunteers, who participated in the drive, Jagdev stressed the need to maintain cleanliness in public area and stated that with administration locals residence has also a major role to play in this regard.
He also highlighted the principals and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion. He further expressed happiness over turn out of large number of youth in the drive and urges them to take initiative to ensure that surroundings kept clean all the time.
“You all are future citizen of this state and it is your duty as responsible citizen to take up many such initiatives to make Jammu clean and green,” he said.
Others who participated in drive were Dev Raj Khokhar, Rasalo Ram, Puran Chand, Raj Nath, Karam Chand, Harbans Lal, Har Dutt, Tek Chand, Ram Singh, Shiv Dayal, Nobat Ram and Deevan Chand.
