Ask JU fraternity to work for peace and strengthening brotherhood in J&K .Jammu, August 15 : Prof. Amitabh Mattoo Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu today asked the JU fraternity to work for bringing peace and strengthening brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. Amitabh Matoo was addressing the JU fraternity after unfurling the tricolour on the eve of 62nd Independence Day at University Campus here this morning.
The 62nd Independence Day function was attended by Deans, HODs Professors, Associated Professors and Assistant Professors of various departments besides the officials from administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo impressed upon the University fraternity to work for bring peace and strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony in the state. "To maintain peace and brotherhood in this difficult hour, It is high time to strengthen the century old tradition of maintaining brotherhood and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir," Prof. Amitabh Mattoo said
Prof. Amitabh Mattoo said that It should be the collective responsibility of all the intellectuals of the state and members of the civil society to resolve the most debatable issues through the democratic process, based on dialogue and conciliation. "We the people of the state have to maintain peace and calm keeping with the traditions of secularism, brotherhood and communal harmony," Prof. Mattoo added
Reiterating its commitment to make University of Jammu one of the best educational hub of the world, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo said that through the University of Jammu has achieved many heights but more efforts are needed to make University of Jammu one of the premier institute of the world. "The way entire JU family worked untidily to improve the standard of the University, in time to come University can bring lot more feathers to its cap if the same efforts continued untidily," Prof. Mattoo said
