Jammu, Jan 18: Criticizing the NC led state coalition government for its failure in proving uninterrupted power and water supply besides inflation, large number of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activists today took out a massive protest rally from party headquarter Jammu which clashed with the police.
Police in order to restrain their movement earlier resorted to light force and scuffle but when the activists forcefully moved out on the main road, water cannon and tear gas was used and were finally court arrested.
Earlier the activists gathered outside the party office Gandhi Nagar from where they moved outwards in the shape of a rally under the leadership of party’s vice president Tarlok Singh Bajwa and party’s rural president Suram Singh Chib besides other prominent leaders.
In the rally large number of people from Marh and Damana also participated under the leadership of their Vikram Singh Langeh, block president Marh and supported the cause of the party.
The activists were shouting slogans against the Omar Abdullah led state coalition government and were demanding its immediate dismissal on being failed in providing power and water to the people.
Activists also flayed the present state government for losing its control over the sky rocketing inflation and price rise due to which the poor people are on the verge of starvation.
While briefing to media Suram Singh said that their rally was just to raise the issue of common man i.e. power, water and inflation as people are now facing prolong power cuts and acute shortage of water and inflation.
He said that the Omar government has failed on all fronts and should immediately dissolve it without any further delay otherwise the party will continue its protests against its government.
