JAMMU, Sep 14: Urging the people to maintain communal harmony in view of the recent violence in the Jammu and Kashmir National Secular Forum has expressed concern over the reports of alleged desecration of Quran in the United States of America.
In a statement issued today, NSF State President Vikas Sharma while condemning the reports of alleged desecration of holy book of Muslim has emphasized that people should not pay heed to the rumors to fail the nefarious designs of anti-social elements.
“The NSF strongly condemns any act in any part of the world that hurts the religious sentiments of the people. We urge the people to state not to resort to violence while expressing their anger” the statement quotes the NSF president as saying.
The statement further expressed deep concern over the violence in Poonch on Monday and called upon the various political parties in the state to issue a joint appeal for peace in the state.
The NSF has also urged the security agencies and people in general to keep a close look on the ‘hawks’ eyeing to vitiate the communal harmony in the state particularly in the Jammu region.
