Jammu: Feb: NSF activists in large number today hold rally in the university the theme of the rally was to fight against the ongoing corruption in the university. Vikas Sharma President who was leading the rally said that corruption is increasing day by day in the administration. He said that funds in every department (DDE, Register office, DSW, ETC.) are not utilized properly and there is no accountability in utilizing the funds. He said that where students are not being provided with the faculties this is because of only that funds are not utilized properly. He said that this will not be tolerated.
He further said that for function VIRASAT coming up in the university, 25 lakh rupees is being spent. He said that spending this large amount of money on function is worthless and the same money should be utilized for providing facilities to the student which have not been provided to the students. He said still there are various facilities which are to be provided to the students in the university and ignoring this all the university is spending 25 Lakh on functions.
He added that Vice chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Varun Sahni for shielding fraudulent and corrupt officials of the university.
Sharma also castigated the Registrar, Prof P S Pathania for giving a “wrong feedback†to the Governor. “We have apprehensions that the Registrar would send wrong information to the Governor in response to the letter from Raj Bhawan, seeking reply over mass copying, answer sheet tampering and mismanagement in DDE.
He said that NSF appeals to the Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of the university to hold an external audit in the mismanagement of the funds.
They warned that they would continue their protests till the Vice Chancellor does not initiate action against the mismanagement and financial bungling in the university.
