By Fazil Qayoom ,Srinagar : To express the solidarity with the Muslims in Gaza the students in Kashmir University today held massive protests against the Israeli attacks on Gaza that killed over 120 since last week. Scores of University students gathered near Alama Iqbal library and marched throughout the campus shouting pro-Palestine and anti-Israel slogans.
Throughout the protest students raised slogans against Israel and its allies and burned down Israeli flag.
“We are here to express our solidarity with the Muslims of Palestine which are brutally massacred by the Israeli forces. If the world body can condemn the attack on Mala Yousufzai, why are they keeping such a criminal silence over these innocent killings,” a student told Global News Service.
“Israel is the illegitimate child of the West and receives full support for its terrorist acts against the Palestinians,” another KU student said.
The students also carried numerous banners and placards denouncing Israeli attack on Gaza. One of the banners read, “Palestine does not need UN or west, it needs another Salaahuddin (Saladin),” while another one read “Khilafah is the only solution”.
“Our bond with Palestinians is based on Islamic brotherhood and we equally share the pain of Muslims all over the world. Hamas is an elected government and attacking its officials amounts to terrorism and war,” said another student.
The protest was concluded with funeral prayers in absentia for Gaza martyrs who were killed since the last week. The students prayed for the oppressed Muslims world over and called upon the Muslims to unite under the banner of Islam.
