Jammu,21 Apr: Member National Executive & former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh accompanied by party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, addressed a massive Booth level party activists gathering in village Thati falling under Bhalwal block of Nagrota assembly constituency. Dr. Nirmal Singh, in his address, said that the present Congress-led governments at the centre and in the state, have totally failed to check the rising prices of essential items. He said manifold hike in the prices of food items have resulted into the very survival of a common citizen in the county. It has not happened for the first time. Whenever the Congress has come to power, steep rise in the prices is witnessed. It is so because the Congress, instead of thinking for a common Indian, is more concerned for the welfare of a handful of big business houses, black marketers and those engaged in hoarding. He said the people of the country are today regretting for having voted in favour of the Congress and opposing BJP in the last elections.
Comparing the 6-year rule of BJP-led NDA at the centre with the present Congress-led UPA, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the nation faced international sanctions after Pokhran Tests. Kargil was forced upon the country by Pakistan. Gujrat and other parts of the country witnessed severe earthquakes and droughts badly hit Orissa. Despite these incidents, everything was well within control. There was no price rise. No one dared to indulge in hoarding or black marketing. The reason was because NDA under the able leadership of Atal Behari Vajpayee was committed for the well being of a common Indian. He asked the booth level activists of the party to expose the Congress for its anti-poor policies so that it is shown the way in the coming elections.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the party activists, said that Nagrota assembly constituency is spread over a large area and had been neglected by his predecessors in the development-related works. He said every one, prior to him, only gave hollow promises but never returned after being elected to the assembly. He said it resulted into stagnation in developmental activities. He said he has been working day and night for the welfare and development of Nagrota Constituency and regretted that the limited funds for such a big constituency are becoming obstacle for starting and completing more developmental projects.
Jugal Kishore Sharma assured people of his constituency that he is committed for development of each and every area of the constituency and they themselves will see that BJP MLA is the first elected representative who has pain and concern for the people.
