Jammu, June 1 : Subha Chauhan, a Law graduate and Peace activist was selected to represent India and to present a paper at the 6th International Student Young Pugwash Conference held at The Hague, Netherlands. She was also included as a participant in the 58th Pugwash Conference on Science and World Affairs. Pugwash is an international Nobel Peace Prize winning NGO.The purpose of the Pugwash Conferences is to bring together, from around the world, influential scholars and public figures concerned with reducing the danger of armed conflict and seeking cooperative solutions for global problems.
Subha is a former student of the Presentation Convent School, Jammu and graduated in law from the Symbiosis Law School, Pune.
Prominent among those who attended the conference were William Perry, Former US Defence Secretary, Sir Malcomm Rifkind , Amb. Huxiaodi of China, Mr. Occumpo, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Sherry Rehman, Former Information Minister of Pakistan, General Talat Masood , Amb. Jayanta Dhanapala, President of the Pugwash Conference on Science and World Affairs and many others.
