Jammu March 18 (INFO)- Ending long stalemate, Employees of JKSRTC of Jammu division have called off their strike that was continuing for last few weeks.
This was announced by working President Mr. Pawan Kumar of JKSRTC workers union Jammu region at a press conference here today.Managing Director of the Corporation Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Lone was also present on the occasion.
Mr. Pawan Kumar said that all the SRTC buses would operate on all routes in Jammu division from tomorrow routinely. He accepted that there was no justification to continue strike following acceptance of all genuine demands of the Corporation employees by the government.
Addressing the press conference, the Managing Director said that government has already accepted demands of the Corporation employees which included timely release of monthly salaries and COLA, convening of DPC, etc. He said strike and confrontationist approach was no right option to resolve problems.
Mr. Lone said that the Corporation has suffered a huge loss due to long strike of SRTC employees that was neither in the interest of the Corporation nor employees. He appealed the Kashmir based employees to call off their strike or else, the government would take stringent action as announced already.
