Mr. Harsh Dev Singh MLA and Chairman JKNPP has expressed grave concern over the war like situation created on the borders resulting into large scale migrations, loss of precious lives and extensive damage being caused to cattle, agriculture fields, houses and standing crops. He said that with Pakistani rangers hell bent upon unleashing gun fire and unprovoked mortar shelling, the border residents in several thousands were dislocated and made to suffer untold miseries.
Condemning Pakistan’s highly violent posturing, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that the intensity of ceasefire violations had increased gradually after the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited India during the oath taking ceremony of Modi’s govt. He said that it is something similar to the Pakistan’s Kargil misadventure which was followed by the historical goodwill visit of Atal Behari Vajpayee to Lahore in Feb. 1999. Pakistan had always responded to Indian goodwill gestures with contempt and malice, lamented, Mr. Singh.
Cautioning Pakistan of serious consequences, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that precarious situation in Pakistan is gradually headed towards a dangerous denouement. He said that the Pak govt. has been unable to deal effectively with its internal crisis with the likelihood of a military conp being openly discussed again. He said that Pakistan can’t survive as a coherent nation unless Pak army discontinues its attempts to destabilize India through its proxy war and stops its medaling in Pakistan’s Politics. He said that political turmoil, internal instability, a floundering economy, an overzealous Army and weak institutions have made out an explosive mix. He said that Pakistani Army and ISI must concentrate in fighting the enemy within rather than frittering away energy and resources in destabilizing neighbouring countries. He urged upon the international community to take cognizance of Pakistan’s violent posturing and large scale human rights violations on the Indian side of LOC and IB.
Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that Pakistan, on external desperation at UNGA and internal political instability within, wants an alibi to engage its restless messes. He said that Pakistan wants to pull back India awed by India’s global strides in multifarious fields.
Expressing serious concern over unabated and continued ceasefire violations, he said that it amply demonstrated Pakistan’s frustration due to no world support and not even an affirmative semblance from the US. He said targeting of civilian areas was highly shameful which needed worldwide condemnation. He said that there were further intelligence inputs which revealed that Pakistan was pushing in indoctrinated traitors, hired , lured and trained in the ISI run camps in PoJK.
Strongly condemning Pakistani misadventures, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that India needs to tread carefully and not fall in the Pakistani trap and salvage them. He said that the India govt. has got to ensure safety of our border population giving at the same time a mouthful to violent posturing Pakistan. He further called upon the Union and State govt. to provide a permanent solution for the rehabilitation of border migrants who are often displaced due to frequent border shelling.
