Fazil Qayoom , Srinagar/Jammu: National Conference (NC) Additional General Secreatry and senior leader Mustafa Kamal accused the media for wrongly interpreting his remark that “Government of India (GoI) was the real enemy of the Jammu and Kashmir”.
“Media has projected me as a traitor to my country of whom I am proud of. My statement has been blown out of the proportion,” Kamal said in a statement issued to Global News Service.
“I have said that India and Pakistan should sit and talk about the Kashmir issue. This peace for the two years is not permanent and so both countries should talk and settle the issues,” Kamal added.
The NC leader while accusing media of sensationalizing the news added that he is a true nationalist and has proven it time and again.
“I have great regard for my country and Indian National Congress and our family is a nationalist. Why do media sensationalize the things?,” he said.
Terming the Rahul-Omar bond as the openers of new chapter in NC-Cong relationship, Kamal said “in the better interest of the Nation our family is committed to carry forward this relationship and strengthen the hands of Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah”.
Kamal pleaded media not to accuse him at this age and reiterated his claim that he is proud of being a “nationalist” which has been the great legacy of Sher-e-Kashmir.
