Amit Sharmna : Jammu, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu , Mr Dilbag Singh-IPS, chairs a meeting of senior officers of Police, Security, Traffic, CID to review the security and law and order arrangements being made for six months of Winter Capital functioning in Jammu .
Detailed assessment of law and order situation as well as security scenario was taken from all the concerned agencies and subsequently all the concerned Officers, responsible for maintenance of Law and order and strengthening the Security Grid in Jammu, were asked to gear up all their resources to increase vigil and enhanced security and law and order measures in the City and on these special occasions. The Deployment worked out and earmarked by SSP Jammu/SP Security and SP Traffic for, Civil Secretariat and additional deployment proposed to be made on the day of opening of Darbar Move on 5th Nov. was discussed . IGP Jammu , Mr Singh , while briefing the officers about the vulnerable/sensitive issues attached to these events, asked them to put in their best for ensuring adequate security and law and order arrangements with special emphasis for maintenance of law and order on the opening day of Darbar. He asked the Commandants and SSPs to identify all the sensitive spots and make adequate deployment at these places. He laid emphasis on effective coordination and quick communication at all levels for quicker response and enhanced measures, on security and law and order front.
Mr Singh, issued detailed instructions to SP Traffic Jammu for dynamic traffic deployment with pragmatic approach in view of increase in vehicular movement due to Darbar Move with special care of routes likely to be used by VIPs/Protected Persons/Secretariat employees. He desired that while increasing our traffic regulation system in Jammu City and its outskirts, care needs to be taken to see that no inconvenience is caused to general public. The meeting was attended by, DIG Jammu_Kathua Range , DIG IRP, SSP Jammu , SP Security, SSP CID SB Jammu and other Commandants of Jammu Based Armed Bns. and territorial SsP of Jammu District besides SP PCR Jammu and SP APCR Jammu. Hamid S/O Jamal Din Caste Gujjar R/O Ramban who was wanted in case FIR No. 32/2008 U/S 188/34/RPC 3 PCA Act of Police Station Udhampur and absconding since year 2008.
Reports said that the bovine smuggler namely Ab. Hamid S/O Jamal Din Caste Gujjar R/O Ramban who was wanted in case FIR No. 32/2008 U/S 188/34/RPC 3 PCA of P/S Udhampur was absconding since year 2008. The challan of the said case was produced in the court of law in the year 2008 and the above named accused was declared as absconder by Hon’ble court and arrest warrants under section 512/CRPC were issued against the above named absconding bovine smuggler in the year 2008. Today, on a specific information regarding the presence of the above named absconding bovine smuggler in the Omara morh area, a Police party of Police Station Udhampur swung into action and arrested him from Omara Morah area and produced in the court of law. Worthwhile to mention here that to accelerate the process of disposal of old pending cases, directions were passed on to all the territorial Police officers of district Udhampur during crime meetings to take immediate strict action against the absconders especially bovine and narcotic smugglers so that they could be prosecuted and got convicted by honorable court. Moreover, Udhampur Police, today arrested one blackmarketer near Chenani and seized 38 Pouches of illicit liqour from his possession, who was carrying the same for black marketing in chenani area.
Reports said that early this morning during routine checking, a Police Party of Police Station, Chenani intercepted one suspicious person namely Rattan Lal S/O Dina Nath R/O Gourikund Tehsil Chenani, and recovered 38 Pouches (250 ML each) of illicit liquor from his possession. In this connection, a Case FIR No. 115/2012 U/S 48A Ex. Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani .
