Tanveer-ul-Ahad , Srinagar: Army on Tuesday said that Pakistani troopers yet again violated the ceasefire violation by targeting its many posts near Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday morning.
A senior army official told GNS that Pakistani troopers attacked Picka post in Churnda Uri Sector along LoC today morning.They first opened heavy weaponry firing and this was followed by small arms fire, official said, adding the firing continued for several hours.
9 MLI troopers who guarding the posts near LoC fired back, triggering heavy exchange of fire, the officer said.
He said that the ceasefire violations were meant to assist infiltration from the Pakistani side.
“They want to infiltrate as many militants as possible into our side before the snowfall although some snowfall has already occurred along the LOC,” the officer said.There was no casualty or injury to anyone in the firing incident, he said.
Three civilians were killed when Pakistan Rangers fired mortar shells at Churunda village near the LOC in Uri sector on October 16.
