Jammu, April 02(INFO)-To discuss arrangements for ensuing Guru Maunyo Granth Chetna Yatra (Jagriti Yatra) to be commenced from Punjab, Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak alongwith Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, IGP Jammu Mr. K. Rajindra, Distrcict Development
Commissioner, Kathua, Ms Sarita Chauhan visited Lakhanpur today and interacted with the members of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and discussed the arrangements being made for peaceful and smooth conduct of the yatra.
It is pertinent to mention here that Guru Maunyo Garanth Chetna Yatra will enter Lakhanpur, on April 4, 2008 and will be received by Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Mr. S.K. Sinha, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his cabinet colleagues and leaders of various political and social organizations.
The yatra will stay for a night at Gurudwara Sahib at Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
Speaking to the media persons, the Minister said that the main aim of this yatra is to spread message of communal harmony and brotherhood among all sections of the society. He said that it will be a privilege- for J&K to receive this yatra which would help in heralding a new era of peace, amity and love.
Later, the Minister convened a brief press conference at Lakhanpur.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua Mr. Laj Ram Chadgal, SSP Kathua, S. JP Singh, Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Mr. B. B. Khushu, Assistant Commissioner (revenue) Kathua Mr. S.K. Kapoor, other civil and police officers, media persons and members of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee were present on the occasion.
