Tanveer-Ul-Ahad ,Jammu: One person died and six others were injured in a blast outside liquor shop at Narwal in Jammu district, late this evening.
A police official said that suspected militants hurled a grenade outside a wine shop near petrol pump at narwal in Jammu Saturday evening.
Seven persons were injured in the attack. All the injured immediately rushed to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment. However, Kuldeep Raj, son of Rakhi Ram, a resident of Akhnoor who was injured critically later succumbed to injuries, the police official said.
He identifies the injured as Amarnath son of Thodu Ram of Bahufort, Rajinder Singh of Upper Gardi Ghar, Rakesh, Ramu of Narwal and Pardeep son of Mulak Raj of Ram Nagar.
Security has been tightened throughout the city and police has been put on high alert, the official said, adding that we are still investigating if it was grenade attack or something else.
Soon after the attack the heavy contingent of police and central reserve police force cordoned off the area and started search operation to nab the assailants.
It was the second attack in the last 48 hour in the state on wine shops.On Thursday, gunmen fired into a liquor shop in Srinagar, one person was killed and five others were injured in the attack.
