To felicitate the newly nominated Distt. President of Jammu Mahanagar Rajesh Gupta, BJP today organized an impressive function at party headquarters. Rajesh Gupta was accompanied by hundreds of party activists on his arrival at function venue. He was presented Dogra pagri, a sword and later garlanded also by the party leaders.
State President Ashok Khajuria, while addressing the party activists expressed surprise over raising of issues like autonomy, demilitarization, human rights violations and singing in praise of Musharraf by the leaders of NC, PDP and separatist organizations at a time when elections are not far. He said such leaders are raising these issues to once again mislead the people. During the last five years the prices of essential items have increased manifold, highly educated youth have been agitating for jobs, employees are not getting salaries for months together and refugees have been demanding citizenship rights but these leaders have not uttered even a single word on such burning issues. Reiterating BJP’s demand of abolition of separate flag and separate constitution in the state, he termed the Article 370 as the root cause of all the problems and ills of the state and demanded its immediate abrogations. He urged upon the Dogras to get united to snatch what is theirs as a matter of right and deserve it. He said a handful of Kashmiri leaders, have consistently discriminated with the Jammu region and few Jai Chands of Jammu have blindly supported every act of these leaders for their personal power and pelf. He declared that the BJP will expose Congress in particular for its anti-Jammu, anti-youth, anti-poor and anti-women policies in the coming days and see to it that BJP comes to power and the nationalist forces are straightened in the state.
Rajesh Gupta, on this occasion, expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for reposing confidence and trust in him by giving him such an important assignment. He assured the party leadership and the workers that he would work whole heartedly to strengthen the party and leave no stone unturned in this regard.
