Jammu,11 Apr:BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today asked Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to disclose the names of those political persons, government officials and media persons who, according to him have "developed a vested interest in the violence and are against the restoration of peace and further development in the state". He said Ghulam Nabi Azad is the state Chief Minister and he is constitutionally bound to not only work for the country's unity and integrity but also to rid his administration of all such elements who are directly and indirectly involved in militant activities or supporting the militant activities and looting the state exchequer.
Ashok Khajuria said that it is a matter of grave concern that Ghulam Nabi Azad has not taken any action against undesirable elements in the political establishment and bureaucracy and elsewhere. He said that disclosures made by the Chief Minister are very startling and that what is needed is an immediate action against persons with dubious credentials. He further said that any failure on the part of the Chief Minister to act against such persons would simply show that he has no grip over the state administration and that his slogan of giving a corruption-free administration is simply a hoax.
What Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad disclosed yesterday vindicates the BJP's oft-repeated stand that there are a large number of politicians, including some ministers and government officials, who are not only hand-in-globe with the undesirable elements but who are also running their shops at the cost of the people and the Indian state.
Similarly, it should send a clear message to the general public that the Congress led government in the state is heading an apparatus, which is not only corrupt to the core, but also the one working for the country's disintegration.
Ashok Khajuria declared that his party would seek full details on all the dubious persons through the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
