Smt. Urimla Singh, Governor said that late Shri Mohammad Rafi was a singer of international repute who sang more than 24000 songs in his lifetime. She was presiding over the Rafi Nite organized by Uday Forum Solan on his death anniversary at historic Gaiety Theatre here today.
Paying her tributes to late Shri Rafi, the Governor said that contribution of Shri Mohammad Rafi in the field of songs and films was supreme and he would be remembered for generations to come. She also asked the neo artists and singers to ensure that songs of Shri Rafi are sung in a befitting manner.She also gave away prizes to the outstanding artists on the occasion.Mr. Justice R.B. Mishra, Judge of the HP High Court who was also present on the occasion honoured those who have excelled in various fields, on the occasion.
Shri Tarsem Bharti, Chief Patron, Uday Forum, Solan welcomed the Governor and others on the occasion and Shri Kamlesh Sharma, President of the Forum presented vote of thanks.
