21 Sep : The State Government would be extending all possible help to the local Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee to celebrate the 300 years of Guru Gaddi Nashini Festival scheduled for October 11 and 12, 2008 in Shimla. This was revealed by Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, in a high level meeting convened to review the arrangements being made by the organizing committee and the district administration in association with other organizations, here today.
Chief Minister said that there were large number of Sikh devotees in the state and the state government had always been extending all possible help to celebrate their fairs and festivals with great enthusiasm and gaiety. He said that elaborate arrangements would be made to celebrate the 300 years of ‘Guru Gaddi Nashini’ in a most befitting manner. He said that the district administration would be assisting the festival organizing committee in the celebrations. He said that all arrangements would be made to maintain law and order during the festival by the police authorities. He said that smooth movement of the vehicles needed to be ensured during the two days so that commuters were not put to any inconvenience. He said that all modalities needed to be chalked out well in time so that the celebrations takes place in a most respectful and devotional manner and meet resounding success.
Prof. Dhumal said that proper security arrangements were required to be made by the concerned authorities for the successful celebration of the festival. He directed the local administration to make fool proof security arrangement to avert any untoward incident during the celebration period. He assured the organizing committee that the state government would be extending all possible help for successful organization of the historical celebration.
Shri B.K.Aggarwal, Secretary Language and Culture, welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed the arrangements proposed to be made by the state.
Shri Rawail Singh, President of the Organizing Committee, detailed the itinerary of the celebration and urged for state assistance in making the celebration historical in all respectful.
Shri G.S.Gill, DGP, Shri S.R.Mardi, IG Law and Order, Shri J.S.Rana, DC, Shri J.R.Katwal, Director IPR, Shri Amitabh Awasthi, Commissioner MC, Shimla, Shri H.S.Chauhan, Additional Director Industries, Shri Prem Sharma, Director of Language and Culture were prominent among other representatives of the organizing committee which attended the meeting.
