27 May : An official spokesman said here today that under the Himachal Pradesh Private Medical Educational Institutions, Regulation of Admission and fixation of Fee Act, 2006, the State Government has constituted an Admission and Fee Committee for recommending mode of admission, reservation, allocation of seats and fixation of fee etc in respect of Private General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and B.Sc. (Nursing) Institutions in the State.
The spokesman said that the committee is consisting of the Director Medical Education, HP as its Chairperson whereas Additional director Medical Education would be its Member Secretary. He said that the Registrar, HPNRC, The Addl/ Joint/ Dy Director Nursing, Director, Health Services, Additional Director Nursing (Teaching) Director Medical Education, Shri V.K. Mehta, Chartered Accountant, Presently Manager (Finance) HP Handicraft and Handloom Corporation Shimla and Assistant Controller finance (IGMC) Shimla would be its members.
He further said that the Committee shall abide by all the procedures/ regulations as per the "Himachal Pradesh Private Medical Educational Institutions Regulation of Admission and fixation of fee Act, 2006" and recommend the mode of admission, making of reservation, allocation of seats and fixation of fees etc in respect of Private General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and B.Sc. (Nursing) Institutions in the State.
He said that the Committee while recommending to the State Government, the fee to be charged by Private General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and B.Sc. (Nursing) Institutions shall consider various factors which include location of the institution, nature of medical courses, cost of land and building, available infrastructure and equipments, expenditure incurred on faculty, administration and maintenance, reasonable profit required for the growth and development of the Institution, any other relevant factor which committee deems just and appropriate for the determination of fee. He said the committee as the case may be, shall give the concerned Private General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and B.Sc. (Nursing) Institutions and the representatives of the students, who intends to seek admission in those institutions, a reasonable opportunity to express their view points in writing in respect to the fee determination.
He said that the Committee should submit its report at least one month before the commencement of the academic session. He said that any extra honorarium / remuneration for discharging their duties will not be given to Chairperson/ Members of the Committee. He said that all the above members of the committee will be official members and will be entitled for T.A./D.A. as per existing rules applicable in the State of H.P.
