Shri Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament said that State Government had accorded top priority to roads, education and health sectors and was ensuring balanced development of the entire State. He was addressing the closing ceremony of two-day long Bishu fair at Habban in Sirmour district today.
He said that due to the sincere efforts of the Government, the State had won many awards for outstanding performance in various sectors. He said that road network was being strengthened in the State and added that Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna had played significant role in this direction. He said that the State was thankful to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, who during his tenure had provided Rs. 5000 crore under the scheme.Shri Thakur said that the State was making efforts to make Himachal Pradesh an Education Hub and added that 16 Universities were being opened out of which 11 have started functioning. 8000 students were being benefited whereas 4000 persons have got employment from these, said he.
He said that he would take up the issue of exploring the possibilities of eco-tourism in Habban area with the Chief Minister.
M.P. announced Rs. 3 lakh for construction of stadium in Habban, Rs. 11000 and Rs. 5100 for Govt. Senior Secondary School, Habban and GMV Public School.
Chaudhary Sukh Ram, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Shri Chander Mohan Thakur, Chairman HP State Co-operative Bank also spoke on the occasion.
Smt. Dyal Pyari, Chairperson, Zila Parishad and prominent BJP leaders of the area were present on the occasion.
