August 20, 2008 :Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has switched over to Hindi language completely and all administrative secretaries have been directed to submit their Cabinet Agenda and allied documents in Devnagri script. This was revealed by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister here today.Chief Minister said that the government was committed to popularize Hindi language in all its official functioning so that maximum number of people could read and understand the correspondence conveniently. He said that Himachal Pradesh is a Hindi speaking state where people are comfortable with Hindi language. He said that all the administrative secretaries of the state government have been directed to prepare their Cabinet Agenda in Hindi and entire proceedings were being carried in same language.
He said that it had been the endeavour of the state government to simplify the official process and carry the same in the common man’s language, which is understood and practiced by every one. He said that it would be in the best interest of the state and its people to completely switch over to Hindi in all its functioning so that the language was popularized amongst the masses. He advised the heads of the department to adopt simple and common use Hindi in their official functioning to simplify the official procedure for the convenience of the people in general.
