Shimla,April 23:An official Spokesman said that the present State Government is a Government of common man and the underprivileged and a number of welfare programmes have been launched for the benefit and upliftment of the poor sections of society since it is in its top priority agenda. He said that the Government is committed to make them socially, economically and emotionally strong to enable them to lead a respectable life.
The Spokesman said that the news appeared in certain sections of the press that the State Government had decided to display BPL boards on their houses indicating that the identified families are below poverty line is totally wrong and baseless. He said that no such decision to fix BPL boards on the houses of such families had been taken by the State Government. He said that the Government was fully sensitive to the sentiments of poor sections of the society and was committed to uphold their self respect and honour.He said that the State Government was well wisher of the deprived and the down trodden sections of the society and accord them appropriate respect. The Government recognized the valuable contributions made by the hard working poor sections in the development of the State and undertook to ever protect their interests.
