March 27, 2008 (Anil Dayal) A deputation of Anganwari Workers and Helpers Union called on Smt. Sarveen Chaudhary, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister here today.The deputation which was led by Smt. Indira Thakur, State President of the Union apprised the Minister of their various demands.
Smt. Chaudhary gave a patient hearing to their demands and assured to look into the matter in order to fulfill their genuine demands. She said that State Government was according top priority to welfare of women and weaker sections of the society and added that Government has taken many decisions recently for betterment of these sections. She further said that the commitment of the Government towards them would remain on priority agenda in future also.
She said that Government was making lot of efforts to protect the interests of Anganwari Workers and Helpers and added that she had personally pursued the matter of increasing honorarium of anganwari workers and helpers to Rs. 4000 and Rs. 2000 per month respectively with Government of India. She further said that Janshri Bima Yojna was under implementation in all child development projects under which Rs. 30,000 was provided to deserving persons in case of natural death, Rs. 75,000 in case of death due to accident or complete handicap, Rs. 37500 in case of partial handicap besides making a provision for providing Rs. 300 quarterly scholarship for additional member for pursuing education from 9th to 12th classes and training under Shiksha Sahyog Yojna.
Smt. Chaudhary urged the anganwari workers and helpers to work with dedication, which would strengthen the social sector and fulfill the commitment of State Government towards the welfare of vulnerable sections of the society.
