Shimla: Rescue operation continued Tuesday with divers and rafters searching for missing students in the Beas river in Mandi region. The group of students from Hyderabad-based engineering college had come on an excursion trip but more than 20 students were drowned in the river when officials had released water from the reservoir without prior warning on Sunday. Officials of the National Disaster Response Force had on Monday recovered bodies of four students.
And the bodies of four students from Himachal Pradesh to Hyderabad were carried by special Army aircraft. Bodies of A Vijetha, Lakshmi Gayathri, G Aishwarya and B Rambabu arrived in a special flight at Begumpet airport on Monday night.
Both governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana issued press releases on the flight arrangements made.
According to a press release issued by the Andhra Pradesh government, the students who survived the mishap and bodies of their classmates were brought back by a special aircraft arranged by Government of AP from Kullu-Chandigarh- Delhi-Hyderabad.
Four of the bodies were brought to Begumpet airport last
night, the release said.
