Appreciation by public representatives and masses in general are pouring in from different quarters for organizing the ‘Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar Par’ Programme in different parts of the State by the Chief Minister, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, himself, thereby providing opportunity to the people in general to address their grievances direct to the Chief Minister to get the justice done to them, in most of the cases, instantly.Chief Minister expressed happiness that large number of people were taking part in the ‘Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar Par’ programme. He said that redressal of public grievances was the priority of the Government. He said that he had made it a point to meet public wherever he visits.
Prof. Dhumal said that the district administration had been directed to organize ‘Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar Par’ programme in their respective districts and make wide publicity to ensure participation of maximum number of applicants. He said that the overwhelming response of the public had been marking the success of the programme. He said that best efforts were being made organize such programmes in different parts of the State in a phased manner so that people were able to address their grievances direct to him and find solutions to their local problems. He thanked the officers for their active participation in such programmes, solving people’s problem locally, thereby saving time and money of the people which they otherwise would have spent on visiting Shimla and other places to address their grievances.
Shri Amar Singh, Pradhan, Gram Sudhar Sabha, Chhadal-Daloli in Tehsil Ghumarwin, District Bilaspur has written a letter to the Chief Minister for organizing ‘Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar Par’ programme at Ghumarwin which resulted to solve the problems of over 550 persons on the spot. He has urged for organizing such programme frequently.
Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal today released a book titled ‘Public-Private Partnership for Rural Development” A Corporate Social Responsibility Perspective’ written by Dr. Aarushi Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Bahra University. The book is among the first of few books PP for rural development with a corporate social responsibility focus.
Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the author and said that book is of utmost importance keeping in view the increasing role of Public Private Partnership and Social Responsibility in rural development.
Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the author on account of sweep of its range, highest level of erudition and the industry and thoroughness characterizing it. He said that the book would be highly useful for both the government and the private sector and would also help in improving public policy formulation.
Dr. Jain has discussed how the government and the private sector can join together for harmonized rural development especially in the areas of Rural Infrastructure, Education, Health, Social Justice, Drinking Water, Environment Protection, Agriculture, Women and Child Development etc.
Dr. Aarushi has done a detailed research of CSR initiatives by industries of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is among the most developing States in India which has achieved significant progress in socio-economic sectors in the recent years and as the author has indicated CSR should be integrated into PP to improve conditions in the rural areas and promote rural development.
According to Dr. Aarushi Jain said that PPP is today being considered as one of the most viable and efficient public policy mechanism for the socio-economic development of the poor and for improvement of public service delivery. She also stressed the need for having a PPP policy in Himachal Pradesh to benefit social sectors. PPP is a tool for all round rural development and the benefits depend on how such tools are utilized by the policy and decision makers.
The Forward of the book has been written by Dr. D.P. Aggarwal, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi who has appreciated Dr. Aarushi Jain for her innovative approach of handling the issues based on extensive research relating to the inter linkages of the three concepts of PPP, CSR and Rural Development.
