Shri Ravinder Singh Ravi, IPH Minister, presided over the Annual Function of Himachal Maha Sabha held in Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the efforts of Himachal Maha Sabha in preserving rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. He said that the Sabha was doing commendable job by providing helping hand to the people of Himachal residing in Chandigarh.
Sh. Ravi said that the State Government was committed for the welfare of the people of the State as well as those, living outside to earn livelihood.The Minister, said that Sabha was delivering yeo-man services and cooperation in the field of development and was dedicated to the service of the mankind. He said that the Sabha was involved in all type of social service and help to the needy and had organized almost half a dozen medical camps.
Highlighting the developmental activities of the State, he said that the Government was giving priority to Agriculture and Social Service Sectors. He said that besides empowering women the Government has gone a step ahead in launching the ambitious ‘Beti Hai Anmol’ yojna to save girl child from foeticide.
He announced grant of Rs.11000/- to the Himachal Maha Sabha for promotion of cultural activities. He also gave away the prizes to the participant of the cultural programme.
Earlier, Shri M. P. Agnihotri, President of the Himachal Maha Sabha welcomed the Minister and thanked him for presiding over the function.
