International Kullu Dussehra will be celebrated from 17th to 23rd October this year. This was decided at a high level meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister organized to finalize arrangements for this festival.
Chief Minister at the very outset said that Kullu Dussehra was a festival of international significance and all foolproof arrangements be made for organizing it in a befitting manner. He said that besides troupes from abroad and other States of the country, the local cultural troupes also be given preference to exhibit rich culture of the State. Cultural troupes from Russia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Srilanka and various States of the country are likely to participate in the festival this year.
Chief Minister directed that proper arrangements be made for maintaining law and order, traffic and proper supply of electricity and water during the festival.
It was decided in the meeting that all the departments, boards and corporations would put up their exhibitions during the festival highlighting the achievements and other perspective of the department.
Shri B.M. Nainta, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu gave details of various activities organized during last year.
Shri Prem Sharma, Director, Language, Art and Culture welcoming the Chief Minister and others detailed about the activities to be organized during this year festival.
Shri Gobind Thakur, Shri Kishori Lal, MLAs, Smt. Rajwant Sandhu, Chief Secretary and other senior officers of the State Government attended the meeting among others.
