Vijyender Sharma, SHIMLA– Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh have expressed grief over the death of two soldiers from Himachal Pradesh, who sacrificed their lives while fighting with the terrorists in Manipur on Sunday evening.
The Governor said that they were real heroes, who sacrificed their life for the cause of the country. He saluted the bravery of soldiers who despite of all odds were safeguarding the frontiers of the Nation.
He prayed for the peace of departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members.
The Chief Minister said Subedar Shri Baldev Sharma of Maruda village near Shahtlai in Bilaspur district and Rifleman Shri Bhupender Kumar who hailed from Gohar area in Mandi district sacrificed their lives for maintaining the unity, integrity and security of the Nation. He said the brave soldiers of Himachal Pradesh had always made supreme sacrifices for sake of the country. The sacrifices of both the soldiers would always be remembered by the people of the State and the Country, he added.
Shri Virbhadra Singh has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. He said the people of the State were standing with them in this hour of grief. He also prayed for the peace of the departed souls.
Sainik Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil has also mourned the death of two Himachali soldiers and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family members.
