Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, was presented a draft of Rs. 11,000 by Dr. Rajiv Saizal, MLA from Kasauli segment of district Solan which he had collected in lieu of the gifts, shawls and caps presented to him by the people during various functions he had attended in recent past, as contribution towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, here today.
Chief Minister thanked Dr. Saizal for the noble gesture and hoped that other dignitaries would take inspiration from him and come forward in donating liberally towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He said that the State Government had created the Fund with a view to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy during emergencies to undergo expensive operations for serious ailments and also in similar other situations. He said that so far thousands of such persons had been benefitted from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He said that over Rs. 13 crore financial assistance had been provided to the poor and needy during past 30 months which was a record in itself.
Prof. Dhumal appealed to the people to donate liberally out of their income towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund which would be a real service to the humanity.
