Hari Thakur,Shimla , 27 May : Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, emphasised the need for building credibility to be successful journalists. He was addressing a delegation of journalists from Sirsa, Haryana, headed by Shri Bhupinder Panniwalia, President, Haryana Journalists Union, Sirsa District Unit and accompanied by Dr. Shashi Bhushan, President, Himachal Pradesh Journalilsts Union, which called on him here today. He welcomed them to Himachal Pradesh and hoped that they would have a memorable stay.
Chief Minister said that journalism was a most glamorous and at the same time a challenging profession where best talents were winning distinctions with their hard work and creditable newsfeeds. He said that those who intended to excell in the profession were required to put in best of their efforts to gather factually verified news before filing the stories. He said that best covered stories help in building credibility and good reputation to the journalists. He said that it were the news stories filed by creditable journalists which bring them laurel and respect of the society. He said that incomplete stories did not serve the purpose of satisfying readers while good true stories were always welcomed by the readers.
Prof. Dhumal said that in the age of IT the journalism profession had emerged more challenging. He said that in the electronic media field the challenge was still more difficult but the good journalists always did their home work and were prepared to meet any challenge successfully. He said that time factor was most important in reporting to the electronic media besides fast mobility to the site of news. He said that the best news reporters were the opinion makers of the society and responsible for changing the same for the better.

DR. RAJAN SUSHANT CALLS ON CM
Dr. Rajan Sushant, newly elected Member of Parliament from Kangra Parliamentary segment, called on Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, here today. Chief Minister congratulated Dr. Sushant for his successful victory from Kangra Parliamentary segment and hoped that he would be contributing significantly towards the redressal of grievances of his constituents.
