June 18:The State Government would consider issuance of required certificates to Bhakra Dam oustees hailing from the State and rehabilitated in Hisar and elsewhere for recruitment to Dogra regiment in armed forces with a view to provide them opportunity to get employment after completion of required codal formalities.
This was revealed by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Kheri in Gram Panchayat Kot Khas in Kot Kehloor assembly segment of district Bilaspur today. He also laid foundation stone of ambitious Shri Naina Devi Group of villages Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme estimated to cost Rs. 5.99 crore.
Chief Minister said that State Government had recommended denotification of Naina Devi Wild Life Sanctuary to Government of India with request that people had many reservations regarding the same. He said that State Government was committed to maintain the sanctity of Shri Naina Devi shrine. He added that all out efforts would be made to facilitate the residents of holy town. He said that with the completion of new water supply scheme, the residents of the town would get 135 litres per head per day including the devotees visiting the Shrine from different parts of the country. He added that residents of 5 local gram panchayats would also be benefitted with water supply of 60 litres per head per day. He said that with the completion of the scheme, a long cherished desire of residents of the area would be fulfilled.
Chief Minister said that State Government would spend Rs. 594 crore under Schedule Caste Special Component Plan during current financial year with a view to carry out focused development of the Schedule Caste concentrated villages in the State. He added that Rs. 10 lakh each would be spent in all the 68 assembly segments of the State over construction of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bhawan to facilitate members of Schedule Caste community to carry out their social activities.
Prof. Dhumal said that State Government was giving added priority to the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors with a view to generate employment and self-employment opportunities to the rural youth of the State.
He said that State Government has decided to provide free CFL bulbs to 16 lakh domestic consumers free of cost by spending Rs. 80 crore under Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna launched in the State from 15th April, 2008. He said that it would help in reduction of electricity bill of consumers by more than 50 percent. He added that it was endeavour of Government to save electricity besides providing quality power supply to consumers.
Chief Minister announced opening of two Veterinary Dispensaries in the Naina Devi area besides one Seed Grading Centre at Majra and Extension Counter of HP State Cooperative Bank at Toba village besides upgrading six Government Primary Schools in the area. He assured people of the area of speedy development in coming time.
Shri J.P. Nadda, Forest and Environment Minister said that a new era of development has dawned with BJP coming to power under the leadership of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. He said that matter of denotification of Shri Naina Devi Wild Life Sanctuary was being pursued by State Government with Government of India and positive outcome was expected in near future. He urged the people to cooperate by planting trees on barren land to protect environment in the area.
Shri Ravinder Ravi, IPH Minister said that Shri Naina Devi Lift Water Supply Scheme would be completed within 18 months and dedicated to the people of area. He said that Rs. 1200 crore were being spent under various IPH activities during current financial year in the State to ensure safe drinking water and improved irrigation facilities to the people. He said that Rs. 2 crore Water Supply Scheme had been sanctioned for Bhakra villages.
Shri Anurag Thakur, MP Lok Sabha thanked the voters of the area for their overwhelming support which created history as all 17 assembly segments registered lead in his favour. He assured the people of his best cooperation to develop Kot-Kehloor as a model segment.
Shri Randhir Sharma, Local MLA thanked the Chief Minister for laying foundation stones of various developmental projects valued at Rs. 14 crore in a day. He urged the Chief Minister for more funds for speedy development of the area. He detailed out developmental schemes sanctioned by the Government for the area during last six months.
