26 Apr : The State Government has approved filling up of 241 posts of Patwaris so as to ensure smooth functioning of the Revenue Department. This was disclosed by Thakur Gulab Singh, Public Works and Revenue Minister while presiding over the meeting with the senior officers of Revenue Department.
Thakur Gulab Singh said that Hon’ble High Court was being requested to vacate stay on filling up of vacant posts of Patwaris. He said that as many as 14 writ petitions were pending before the Hon’ble High Court regarding these posts. He said that as soon as the stay was vacated the posts of patwaris would be filled up on priority.
Revenue Minister said that out of total 457 vacant posts of patwaris in various districts of the State 241 posts have been cleared in the first phase. He said that at present a total number of 345 trained patwaris are available for appointment.
Thakur Gulab Singh said that out of total 118 Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils of the State, the Land Records of 109 Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils have already been computerized, 95 Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils have been made on-line where computerized copies of Jamabandi are being made available to the people. He said that data entry work of 20,087 villages out of 21,119 villages has been completed and settlement work of remaining 1011 villages is in progress. He said that the process of setting up of Computer Centre in 5 newly created Tehsils and 2 Sub-Divisions is underway and an amount of Rs 6.47 crore is being spent for this purpose.
Revenue Minister said that the State Government was establishing Data Centre at District Headquarters and the work of Digitization of Mussabies in Sirmour and other districts was in progress. He said that the settlement of land in Sirmour district was being undertaken with modernized techniques of land record and measurement.
Smt. Anita Tegta, Special Secretary, Revenue, Shri Rattan Singh, Director, Land Records and other senior officers of the Revenue Department attended the meeting.
