Shimla 27 April : Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister said here today that Industries Department, in collaboration with CII Chandigarh, organized 5th Job Fair-2011 at Dharamshala on 22nd and 23rd April, 2011, in which 2400 youth from the State, were provided employment by various private Industries. He said that 7800 candidates from various parts of the State, took part in this Job Fair and 48 Industrial Units offered job opportunities to the youth of the State.
Sh. Kapoor said that State Government was committed for the welfare of youth and employment opportunities were being created for them in Government and Private sectors. He said that in order to ensure employment opportunities to the youth in private sector, various Rogzar Melas were being organized in various parts of the State. He said that in addition to Rogzar Melas, the Campus Interviews were also being organized in the state and 6,414 youth were provided gainful employment through these Campus Interviews during last three years in the State.He said that the State Government for the first time, organized Recruitment Rallies for Airmen, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force in the State. He said that Recruitment Rallies were organized in Shimla and at Sujanpur in Hamirpur district, in which more than 300 Himachali youth in each Rally were selected.
Industries Minister said that the State Government spent over Rs 60 crore in last three years on various skill development initiatives. He said that State Government sanctioned more than 19,000 posts of various categories of teachers, out of which more than 10,000 had already been filled. He said that 50 percent professional and technical posts in Government sector were being filled on batch wise basis to ensure more employment opportunities to the educated youth.
Sh. Kapoor said that in order to create job opportunities to the youth the Government has decided to set up a Hydro Power Project Training Institute to impart training to the youth in hydropower generation by forming cooperatives for execution of mini power projects. He said that State Government was strictly enforcing the condition of providing at least 70 % employment to Himachali youths in all industrial and other projects in the State.
