4 June:The unmarried daughters of the pensioners beyond the age of 25 years are now eligible for the family pension under the new scheme of the Haryana Government.
"The decision to amend the Family Pension Scheme, 1964, has been taken keeping in view the long pending demand of Haryana Civil Pensioners Welfare Association, Karnal, and Pensioners and Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Jagadhri, to grant family pension to unmarried daughters at par with the widow and divorced daughters of pensioners on the pattern of the Central government," Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Unmarried daughters, beyond the age of 25 years, would now be eligible for family pension at par with the widow and divorced daughters, he said while enumerating the details of the scheme.
The pension would be payable in order of their date of birth and the youngest of them all would not be eligible for the family pension unless the next above her becomes ineligible for the grant of the pension, he said.
It had also been decided that as per the income parameters to become eligible for getting family pension, a widow or divorced daughter and son should not have monthly income more than Rs 2550, he added.Courtsey ; DD NEWS
