Chandigarh February 18- The State Election Commissioner Dharambir today said that any person residing in area of Muncipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG) can enquire about his vote in the draft voter list by just dialing toll free helpline number 1800-180-1256.
Mr Dharambir was reviewing the work of accepting claims and objections on the draft publication of voters list of MCG .He sought information about the progress of obtaining claims and objections on the voters list of MCG the draft publication of which was made on 2nd February. He directed the supervising officers to keep on inspecting the Voter Information and Collection Centers (VICC) for preparing an error free voters lists.
The draft publication of MCG voters list was made on 2nd February and now claims and objections were being received by 25th February. For receiving and deciding claims and objections in all 35 wards of MCG, 12 supervising officers have been appointed. Besides, 35 Assisting officers have also been appointed to help the supervising officers who have to decide the claims and objections by 7th March. After that, appeal can be filed against the decision of supervising officers to the Deputy Commissioner by 10th March who would be disposing of the appeals by 21st of March. As per the schedule issued by the State Election Commission, the final publication of voters list of MCG would be made on 30th March.
Mr Dharambir said that any person can enquire about his vote from the help line number 1800-180-1256 and if his name is not found registered in the voters list he can apply online on the website www.mcg.gov.in of MCG. The persons applying online have to download the form and deposit it with the concerned supervising officer along with the documents showing identity proof and residence proof. The forms are available on the internet and also at the VICC centers opened in every ward of MCG. The filled up forms can be submitted at the VICC centers which would remain open even on Saturday and Sunday. He asked the officers to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission and observe complete transparency in the process.
