By CS Kanwar ,Kurukshetra, February 25 : Additional district and sessionsl court has awarded imprisonment of ten years along with fine of Rs .80,000 to a youth of Bihar for abducting and raping a minor girl. In case of non-payment of fine the culprit shall have to undergo additional imprisonment of nine months more.
According to the prosecution, a Bihari youth Arun Raut working as a labour in Babain town about 25 kms from here, abducted a minor girl of the town on a promise of marrying her on 24 December, 2011. He took her to Sitamau and raped her repeatedly. On the complaint of her parents, police arrested the accused and produced him in the district and sessions court here. In the court trial, the victim was found a minor and the court tried the accused under various sections of the IPC. After hearing the prosecution and the defence counsel, the court awarded ten years jail and a fine of Rs 50,000 to the accused under section 376 of the IPC, three years jail and fine of Rs 10,00 each under section 366A and 363 of IPC, and one year jail with Rs 10,00 fine under section 506 of IPC.
