Haryana, Sept 29 – Senior Citizens’ Assistance Tribunal, Faridabad has come to the rescue of Mrs Sushila, who was being ignored by her son after the death of her husband. A resident of SGM Nagar, Faridabad, Mrs Sushila will now get Rs 3500 per month as subsistence allowance from her son. In addition, as per the decision of the Tribunal, her son Sanjay Sharma will have to construct a room at the second floor of the house alongwith a toilet, bathroom and a kitchen to accommodate her mother. The Tribunal is proving a boon for the senior citizens. It is being headed by its Chairman, Mr Yash Pal Yadav. The Tribunal has benefitted many other senior citizens. Another such beneficiary is Laxmi Devi of Parvatiya Colony, who was separated by her husband. The Tribunal decided that her husband Mr Hawa Singh would pay her a subsistence allowance of Rs 5000 per month. The Tribunal has also solved a case where a tenant was neither paying rent nor paying bill of electricity and water. The Tribunal ordered the tenant to vacate the house within 30 days and pay the balance rent.
The Chairman of the Tribunal said that the senior citizens could approach the Tribunal to get their grievances redressed within 90 days.
